This book has fifteen leaves, each one showing a step in the process, from the stretching and sizing of the cloth to the finished design, which has been through two dye baths. Some of the binding has been opened to make it possible to show the separate leaves in sequence in an exhibition case. The book was probably made for a Dutch client. —RB
